There is a Balm in Gilead

I am sure that many will not know the origins of the title of this blog; it is a reference to the African American hymn titled (you guessed it), "There is a Balm in Gilead." The chorus reads:

There is a balm in Gilead
To make the wounded whole;
There is a balm in Gilead
To heal the sin sick soul.

What is told about in this song is the powerful, redemptive, and restorative work of Christ.  The "balm" is Jesus.  We are those who love Jesus and want to share our experiences as those healed by the great Physician.  We want to continue to take of the Balm and be healed from our sinfulness more and more until glory--where there will be no more crying (for sorrow at least), or death or mourning, or pain.

Peace,

Roy and Emily

Can I blog from work, too?

Let's find out!
